Now I know how Charlie Sheen feels.

Writing a 50,000 word novel in a month does tend to make one feel like an epic winner. And if you’re not done yet, you still have 5 days left, so ignore the mess that may be piling up around you and write on!

Word count verification (AKA “winning”) started today on the NaNoWriMo website. It took me a while to find it (shouldn’t there be an obviously-placed link on their home page?), but I persevered. If you’re still looking for the word count validator, make sure you’re logged in, go to “Update Word Count,” click “Edit Novel Info,” and click “I am ready to validate my novel.” You will then simply cut and paste your novel into the window and submit. Then you get to put a cool winner’s badge on your blog like this:
